I think the kit is a good starter project, although it would have been easier to master if the canvas had the larger holes (3.75). It really hurt my fingers fighting with the fabric on the included canvas. My next project will be on 3.75 canvas. Also, I had no idea that no hook was included in the kit and had to order one from Amazon after I received my kit.

Sorry you had a challenging time with this trivet kit. It's designed for customers who want to try 5-mesh canvas in an easy design. It is sold without tools as mentioned in the description. We also sell them as 'Starter kits' with tools. I think you would do well with our new Locker Hooking Discovery Kit. It's available with 3.75 mesh canvas and includes everything you need to locker hook a Magical Dahlia in blues and fresh greens with a ceramic tile for accent. Hope you give it a try!
